The Medicare program faces serious fiscal challenges that have implications for beneficiary premiums, federal spending, and the long-term sustainability of the program. MPI’s work examines how the Medicare program is financed, its solvency, and the drivers of Medicare spending. Our work also considers the effects of policy changes on Medicare’s spending trajectory and analyzes proposals to put the program on sounder financial footing for current and future generations.
